The official website for the live action Kakegurui TV drama series revealed four new characters who will be joining the main cast. These new players are series’ originals and do not appear in Homura Kawamoto and Tōru Naomura’s manga series. The newcomers are:
Hio Miyazawa as Amane Murasame, leader of an influential group knows at the “Village” who oppose the Student Council and Yumeko Jabami.
Haruka Fukuhara as Eri Arukibiju, a member of “Village” who serves under Amane Murasame
Former Nogazaka46 member Marika Ito as Tomu Inuhachi, a school delinquent.
Akira Onodera as Kyu Nitobe, member of the journalism club covering the story of the Student Council, Yumeko and Village.
Kakegurui is the live action adaption of the Japanese manga series written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Tōru Naomura, which began serialization in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker from March 2014 and is licensed in English by Yen Press. The live series first aired in Japan on January 14, 2018 and is currently streaming on Netflix outside of Japan. The second season reunites director Tsutomu Hanabusa and the original cast from season one with Minami Hamabe and Mahiro Takasugi as Yumeko Jabami and Ryōta Suzui respectively. New main cast members are Elaiza Ikeda as Hyakkaou Private Academy’s student council president Kirari Momobari and Nogizaka46 idol group member Sayuri Matsumura as Yumemi Yumemite.
Kakegurui live action drama is set to premiere March 31, followed by a feature film in May.
