Yes, this is a worthy collaboration between the two games. After searching around, there is confirmation that characters from the Arc System Works fighting game series Guilty Gear will join the heroes of Epic Seven. The official Facebook page for Epic Seven posted a picture showing the silhouettes of four familiar characters.
Any Guilty Gear fan will already know who the fighters are. But those of you that don’t, the four characters are:
Sol Badguy – main protagonist of the Guilty Gear series, a bounty hunter who has dedicated his life to the destruction of Gears.
Baiken – the female samurai who swore revenge on “That Man” for the murder of her parents.
Dizzy – the young and powerful daughter of the original antagonist, Justice.
I-No – the rocking sadomasochist who fights with an electric guitar.
Having these characters appear in Epic Seven actually fits nicely. The animation style of Guilty Gear not only matches that of Epic Seven but animation sequences of each characters’ finishing move is on par with the mobile game’s heroes’ ultimate attacks. Arc System Works are no strangers to crossovers. Last year’s BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle features characters from the BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, Under Night In-Birth and RWBY franchises by Arc System Works, Atlus, French Bread, and Rooster Teeth respectively. Epic Seven will have an update today that will introduce Ken and Haste. The collaboration with Guilty Gear characters will take place in an update on April 25.
