Since it first aired in 2012, Arrow has become the cornerstone for the CW’s DC television series, spinning off Flash in 2014 and then creating Legends of Tomorrow in 2016 which features characters from both shows. Supergirl was linked to the Arrowverse when Flash a paid her world a visit in that shows first season, thus opening up the “Multiverse” that encompasses all four shows. Since then, the DC television shows have had to major crossover events with the four shows, 2016’s “Invasion” and 2017’s “Crisis on Earth-X”. Once again, the CW is preparing for another major crossover event for this season’s run. Unfortunately, Legends of Tomorrow will not be a part of it as they have their own issues to deal with. This year’s crossover will introduce The Meg actress Ruby Rose as Kate Kane aka Batwoman. But that’s not all. Tyler Hoechlin will return as Superman and joining will be his love life Lois Lane, portrayed by Elizabeth Tulloch.
Tulloch is best known for her role as Juliet Silverton/Eve on the NBC series Grimm, which ended March 31, 2017 after six seasons. She is the seventh actress to portray the intrepid reporter for the Daily Planet. Lois Lane was first played by Phyllis Coates in the 1950’s “Adventures of Superman” in the first season. She was replaced by Noel Neill for the remained of the series. Portraying Lois Lane in the Christopher Reeves “Superman” films made Margot Kidder an icon, then Teri Hatcher (who plays Rhea in Supergirl) took the role for 1990’s “Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, followed by Erica Durance (another Supergirl costar) who played her in “Smallville.” Amy Adams plays Lois Lane in the DC Cinematic Universe.
The Flash season 5 premieres Tuesday, October 9, Supergirl season 4 premieres Sunday, October 14, and Arrow season 7 premieres Monday, October 15 on The CW. The 2018 Arrowverse crossover event will take place from December 9-11.
