The popular anime adaption of Negi Haruba’s romantic comedy light novel manga The Quintessential Quintuplets is getting a second season. The announcement came at a special event to celebrate the Nanako Sisters’ birthday. Yup, they were born on Cinco De Mayo. The announcement event also featured the girls’ voice actresses, talk show events and – like any birthday celebration – a birthday cake was present as well.
The Quintessential Quintuplets tells the story of Japanese high school student Futaro Uesugi who is hired as a highly-paid tutor. He quickly discovers his five charges — charming identical quintuplet sisters of varied personalities — have in common zero interest in studying and abysmal grades. Some of the quintuplets are against having an unknown male in their apartment, but Futaro’s diligent tenacity gradually convinces those girls to accept him and to improve their grades.
Moreover, through a flashforward, it turns out that Futaro will marry one of the sisters, but during his tutoring, all five of them fall in love with him. So, who will be his bride?
