First look at new series from “Simpsons” creator since “Futurama!!”

Matt Groening has taken us to the future with “Futurama.” He kept in the present with the “Simpsons.” So, what destination is left? Matt takes to the “Olde days of yore” with Disenchantment. The series follows the story of a drunken princess named Bean, her elf companion Elfo, and her “personal demon” Luci, who live in a medieval kingdom known as Dreamland. Netflix will air the series which has been picked up for ten episodes. This is first series Matt Groening has done outside of Simpsons since Futurama, which aired on Fox from March 28, 1999, to August 10, 2003 before it was canceled and then revived in 2007 as four direct-to-video films, which were compiled by Comedy Central into a 26-episode fifth season after an agreement with 20th Century Fox. Futurama continued its run on Comedy Central until the final seventh season that aired in 2013. The Simpson, the longest continuously running animated series in history, will enter its 30th season this Fall.

Prepare to be Disenchanted on August 17, 2018.
