Fantasy light novel “If it’s not for my Daughter, even I’d defeat a Demon Lord” greenlit for anime adaption!!

It seems the world of fantasy is coming to the limelight. With manga series “How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord!”, “Overlord III”, “The Rising of the Shield Hero” and “The Time I got reincarnated as a Slime” being adapted into TV anime series, the world of hero quests and guild and adventurers is becoming more popular than ever. Now another manga series about adventurers and Demon Lords is joining the TV Anime ranks. “Uchi no Musume no Tame Naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maō mo Taoseru Kamoshirenai” (If it’s not for my Daughter, even I’d defeat the Demon Lord) is a light fantasy novel written by CHIROLU that tells the tale of an adventurer who adopts a little girl with horns. Hobby Japan made the announcement about the TV anime adaption but has yet to reveal a premiere date. However, a cast has been rounded out.

Kanon Takao (Linnea in The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar) will portray Latina, a devil girl found in the forest by an adventurer who takes her in. Latina is adorable, smart, and kind. She is treated like an idol at the “Dancing Tiger”, a place where adventurers gather. Latina hides her horns by wearing her hair with ribbons.

Nobuhiko Okamoto (Kastuki Bakugo in My Hero Academia) will play Dale, the adventurer who finds Latina alone in the forest and decides to be her guardian. He is a skilled adventurer who has slayed several monsters. Usually a stern man, Dale drops his guard when he is around Latina.

If it’s not for my Daughter, even I’d defeat a Demon Lord started out on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō! (Let’s Be Novelists) website in August 2014. Hobby Japan began releasing the series with illustrations by Truffle in February 2015 with a ninth published as of February 2019. J-Novel Club has released the English version of the novel with four volumes currently available.

CHIROLU’s fantasy tale is described as:
Dale is a cool, composed, and highly skilled adventurer who’s made quite a name for himself despite his youth. One day on a job deep in the forest, he comes across a little devil girl who’s almost wasted away. Unable to just leave her there to die, Dale takes her home and becomes her adoptive father. Devil or not, Latina is beyond adorable, and the adventurer soon finds himself head over heels with being a parent. But why was she out in the forest to begin with, and why does she carry the mark of a criminal?

Kadokawa has published a fourth volume of the manga adaption of the series drawn by Hota. in August of last year. The manga version appears on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker app. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the English version manga and has published the second volume last October. Combined, the novel and manga versions have sold more than 500,000 copies.
