The anime epic Princess Mononoke is making its return to U.S. theatres as part of the year-long event Studio Ghibi Fest 2018 to celebrate the screenings of classic anime from Studio Ghibi. Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, Princess Mononoke follows the young Emishi prince Ashitaka’s involvement in a struggle between the gods of a forest and the humans who consume its resources during the late Muromachi period (approximately 1336 to 1573) of Japan with fantasy elements. The film is known for its incredible visuals, beautiful animation and compelling storyline.
