Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is getting a stage play adaption!!

If you have enjoyed the dark fantasy anime Demon Slayer, then get ready to see Tanjiro and his friends on stage in a live action stage play. The play will be written/directed by Kenichi Suemitsu, who has been worked on the stage play adaptations of the Touken Ranbu series since 2016. Shunsuke Wada, known for his works for Live Spectacle Naruto and Hyper Projection Play Haikyu!!, provides the music. 

The official website for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba stage play has released visuals of the actors who will be portraying the series main characters. 20-year-old Ryota Kobayashi (Katsuki Bakugo in My Hero Academia The Ultra Stage) will play the series kind-hearted protagonist Tanjiro Kamado and 16-year-old Akari Takaishi (Nyaa Hashimoto in Mr. Osomatsu stage play) has been cast as his sister turned demon Nezuko. Keisuke Ueda will play frightfully timid Zenitsu and Yugo Sato will portray the pig-headed Inosuke.

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba stage play will debut at The Galaxy Theater in Tokyo from January 18 to 26, 2020. then it will be performed at AiiA 2.5 Theater Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture from January 31 to February 2. Advanced ticket sales will be held between November 11 and 17 for the Shonen Jump annual readers.
