A dead silence fell upon the area again as the falling rain beings to get heavier. A few minutes pass as he waited for some sign of Derrick; afterward, he hears the rubble shift a little. Brandon steadies himself to defend against a possible attack. Soon he sees Derrick’s hand begin to rise from out of the rubble and then collapses. Brandon relaxes as he now realizes his rivalry with Derrick is over. Instead of being satisfied, an uncomfortable regret comes over him as he stands near the collapsed building that now rests on top of Derrick. “Why did it have to end this way? We were friends once when our fathers worked together. What happened? What made you change?” Brandon said quietly as the dark, gloomy sky became angry, “I can’t help but feel sorry for you. But I feel even sorrier for myself for what I’ve done. I guess in a way, I still think of you as my friend. And I’m sorry it had to end this way. Goodbye Derrick, should you survive, I hope we can be friends again.” Brandon turns and walks away, sadden by the action he took against an old friend.
As he is walking away, he begins to hear the sound of someone clapping. He stops and looks around to see who was clapping. “Amazing…simply amazing,” said a deep voice, “I never thought that you would be able to exert that much power.”
Brandon looks in the direction of the voice as sees a very tall and muscular man in a leather vest and blue jeans standing in the middle of the parking lot. “Who are you? And how do you know about my power?” Brandon asked demandingly.
“My name is Akeem and I’ve been watching you for quite some time. You have an extraordinary power.” he says.
“What do you want?” Brandon asked.
“I’ve come to make you an offer.” said Akeem.
“Yeah, what kind of offer?”
“Why?” Brandon was blunt with his question.
“For the purpose of showcasing your power. To rule over those who do not possess such power. You and I are alike. We both have an acquired strength to rule over all.”
“I think I’ll pass,” Brandon said plainly.
“Don’t you see? We can take this world and claim it as ours and no one could stop us. You could have anything you want. Money, riches, power, think about it. The world would be your oyster…if you would just join me.”
“Sorry, but I’ve got better things to do.” Brandon said refusing Akeem’s offer. “Besides, I don’t join up with creeps who only think about money and power. So take your offer somewhere else?”
“Pity…such a waste of extraordinary talent,” Akeem said.
