After months of waiting, chomping at the bit, biting our nails and rubbing our hands in with anxiety and anticipation, at long last we get our first official trailer to the long awaited project from Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding.
Since its reveal at E3 2016, the game has been shrouded in mystery both in the game’s enigmatic trailers and details of the storyline and content. Now, after three years, Kojima Productions pulls back the curtain and finally answers those questions fans and critics have been asking for some time.
Death Stranding is a dark sci-fi fantasy game set in a post apocalyptic world where people are dying from a mysterious disease caused by a strange phenomenon. Gameplay mimics that of Horizon Zero Dawn with the player character being able to hide in tall grass to initiate stealth attacks. The game is a graphical giant, with environmental detail and and scale comparable to that of Horizon Zero Dawn or Santa Monica Studios’ God of War.
Not only does Death Stranding boast incredible graphics, it also features an impressive cast consisting of Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, Hannibal TV series star Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Tommie Earl Jenkins, veteran voice actor Troy Baker, and the Bionic Woman herself Lindsay Wagner. They not only star in the game, but also perform the motion capture, facial scannings and vocal performances. Emily O’Brien, Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn are also featured.
Death Stranding is set to launches exclusively on the Playstation 4 on November 8.
