Welcome Sushay Minnie, this is your week in the COSPLAY SPOTLIGHT!!

Why do you cosplay?

I love becoming my favorite character from a cartoon show, anime, comic books and movie. It super fun and it makes me happy. I get to make new friends that have the same interest as me. I love making costume. Even though I only wear them for special occasion, I feel so accomplished and special to have them in my closet. I even let my friends borrow them too. My favorite part about cosplaying is having to see little kids reactions. They get so happy and excited because they are seeing their heroes in person. Cosplaying gives me the confident to be myself around people. I don’t care about the fame or how awesome my costume turns out. All I care about is making myself happy and doing what I love.

What was your first cosplay?

Hatake Kakashi from Naruto. I have no idea what was going on in my head, but i was in “love” with this character that I decided to be him.

Do you make your own cosplay costumes, if so, which ones, and how long does an average costume take to make?

Yes. I love sewing. It usually takes me about 2 week – 4 months, depending on what costume i make it. I like having my costume detailed and comfortable.

Who is your favorite character to play?

Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Amongst animation, comics, movies, or video games, what is your biggest inspiration for cosplay?

It will most likey be anime and the cosplay community. Everywhere I look, I feel so inspired to make something.

Have you ever made any mistakes that you’d warn a first timer about?

YES YES YES…… ohh good laudy, BRING A HOT GLUE GUN AND GLUE STICKS. there will be ALOT of time were you will have wardrobe malfunction. That is where you super ultra best friend, “the glue gun” comes in.

Are there certain characters that are easier to cosplay as than others?

Yes. some characters in anime wears school uniforms or maid outfits. Any costumes can be easy or hard depending on how well you can put it together.
