Well, it’s not Legend of Zelda, it’s way better! Adi Shankar announced today that his next project will be an animated series based on Capcom’s “Devil May Cry” series. Shankar said that he has acquired the rights to the property to keep Hollywood from “f—ing it up.” Netflix could be a likely spot to air it along side his highly successful Castlevania series, based on Konami’s game series of the same name, more specifically “Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse.” However, Adi Shankar told Polygon that he has received offers from three different streaming platforms.
Between the games and books, Shankar has plenty of source material at his disposal. As fans know, Devil May Cry’s storyline is counterintuitive, meaning the release of the games do not coincide with the storyline. So which game or part of the storyline Shankar will be attacking is up in the air. If the Castlevania series has proven anything, Shankar will undoubtedly make a series worthy of and for fans.
