Hey, what’s up, J1sters!
Are you ready for another season of demon slaying action?! Well, that could be coming very soon! During the live stream of Demon Slayer Matsuro Online – 2nd Anniversary Festival, it was revealed that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s second season is set to begin airing in 2021 with the staff and crew from the first season and the anime film returning. The new season will be set after the events of Mugen Train. A key visual for the next season was previewed along with a region-locked video.
Along with the new video and visual, another visual was posted on the Demon Slayer Twitter account with the gang looking snazzy in their Taisho-era outfits. (Just when you though Nezuko couldn’t be any cuter!)
The first season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba aired from April 2019 to December 2019 and became a cultural phenomenon, with manga sales quickly rivaling top sellers One Piece, Naruto and Bleach. The anime film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie – Mugen Train had the best opening weekend and quickly became to highest grossing anime film in Japan of all time.
The TV anime opening song, “Gurenge” performed by LiSA, ranked at the top of Japan’s music charts for several weeks.
