One Piece falls the third place for the first time since 2011!
Tanjiro and company are must be eyeing the competition as hard as the demons they hunt! According to Oricon reports, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has dominated manga sales for the year 2020, which are up from 2019. Selling over 82 million physical copies thus far, the dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotōge has dethroned Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece as the top selling manga, bumping that series down to third place. Oricon has collected data for the past year revealing the top selling manga series and top selling manga volumes.
Note: The rankings are based on estimated physical copies sold in Japan and does not include digital copies. The data has been collected from November 18, 2019 to November 22, 2020.

This, coupled with the anime film sequel, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie – Mugen Train tearing up the Japanese box office, proves without a doubt that this year belongs to Tanjiro and Nezuko.
