World’s first eSports campus is coming to Philadelphia!!

What is happening, Gamers and Gamettes! This is DevilDriver1313 with exciting news for my fellow Philly residents. The City of Brotherly Love is getting the world’s first eSports campus constructed right here in our city. The 40,000 square foot campus will be located in the Terminal Commerce Building at 401 North Broad Street in the Callowhill section of the city and constructed by Nerd Street Gamers, which currently operates Localhost at 908 3rd Street.

“It seems as though more people are playing now more than ever,” says Pete Powell, who is with Nerd Street Gamers. “Essentially, what we’re doing is building the world’s first fully functional eSports campus.”

Named “The Block”, it will not only have a global broadcasting studio, it will also be a place were college and professional players can go to sharpen their skills. The space will also grow relationships with several youth organizations such as the Police Athletic League. The eSports facility is expected to open later this year.

While on the subject, the Philadelphia Fusion will be getting a new home, Fusion Arena, which is expected to open for the 2021 Overwatch League season.

Until next time, I’ll see you “On the NXT LVL!!”
