The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a ‘Prince of Persia-like’ action/stealth title!!

Hey there, Gamers and Gamettes! Thank you for joining me, DevilDriver1313, “On the NXT LVL!” By now, we are all familiar with J.R.R. Tolkien’s Hobbit and Lord of the Rings novels, the movies they were adapted into and the memorable characters they introduced. One of these characters that stood out was the Stoor formally known as Smeagol, Gollum. Daedelic is giving the creepy little guy his shot at stardom with his own video game. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a Prince of Persia-like action/stealth title that will chronicle Gollum’s capture and escape with a narrative that will link to the novels which are being used as the primary source material. Daedelic will use elements from Peter Jackson’s successful film franchise, however, much of the character appearances and environmental details will be taken from Tolkien’s own drawings. Gollum himself has been designed differently from his depiction in the films. He has been given wider eyes and more to make look less intimidating.

Gollum is not one for combat. Instead, the game will focus stealth and make use of his cunning and intelligence. Though he can take out enemies using stealth tactics, this comes with a high risk. Players will have to weigh their options to generate the best outcome. After all, Gollum’s true strength lies in his cunning. Between missions, Gollum will be forced to make decisions and dialogue choices, choosing from responses proposed by both his gentler Sméagol personality, and the Gollum psyche that emerged after he was corrupted by the One Ring. This leads to a branching narrative that can influence certain gameplay situations, dialogue, soundscapes and animations.

So, what do you think? Are you looking forward to playing this precious title?
