How’s it going, J1 Fans!
It’s apparent that Netflix is fully invested in the Witcher following the success of the first season of their series based on the novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski. They have recently announced a prequel will begin production and that it is set 1200 years before Geralt’s reign. Titled “The Witcher: Blood Origin,” the series will tell the tale of the Elven civilization before it fell to men and monsters as well as introduce the first Witcher. No date has been set for production of the prequel to begin. Meanwhile, the main Witcher series starring Henry Cavill is set to resume production on August 17. It is planned for release in 2021. Producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is also working on a Witcher anime titled “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf” for Netflix.
