After years of absence, we could see the return of everyone’s favorite scarlet haired blood-sucker, Rayne. making a comeback. Ziggurat Interactive has recently acquired the rights to several gaming titles previously owned by Majesco Entertainment. These include Advent Rising, Raze Hell, Flip’s Twisted World and the headliner, BloodRayne. Ziggurat is working with Terminal Reality, the original developer of BloodRayne, to bring the femme fatale back through updated versions of the PC release to improve compatibility and enhanced experience. BloodRayne originally launched on the PlayStation 2, Xbox and Gamecube in 2002, following by a sequel in 2004. The games are 3D third person shooters with the exception of BloodRayne: Betrayal released in 2011 for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, which saw an anime inspired redesign of Rayne and was released as a 2D side-scroller.
Ziggurat Interactive launched in late 2019 with the goal of restoring, reworking and remastering classic titles from the 80s, 90s, and beyond. Currently, the company has plans for games like Forbidden Forest, Super Huey, and Deadly Dozen. They have also acquired several 3DO titles including Killing Time, Requiem: Avenging Angel, Uprising: Join or Die, and Captain Quazar earlier this year.
