Capcom is celebrating its Sengoku Basara series by releasing Sengoku Basara 4: Sumeragi Anniversary Edition on PlayStation 4, with the Japanese launch now set for July 21, the exact date the first game in the Sengoku Basara series launched on the PlayStation 2 in 2005. The Sumeragi version on the game debuted on the PS4 in 2015 so this reissued title will also commemorate the 5th anniversary of this title. The Anniversary Edition comes packed with a host of goodies – a physical version will be available, as well, packing the game with 56 pieces of DLC and 10 weapon item downloads, a special Sengoku Heroes 15th Anniversary Art Book, and an illustrated box.
Sengoku Basara is a series of video games developed and published by Capcom, and a bigger media franchise based on it, including four anime shows, an anime movie, a magazine series, a trading card game, and numerous stage plays, manga, and drama CDs. Its story is loosely based on real events of the titular Sengoku period in the history of feudal Japan. Sengoku Basara is considered to be very popular in Japan with the video games getting good reviews and sales, winning numerous awards, becoming a cultural phenomenon, and gaining a huge and strong fanbase.
