Netflix drops a new trailer for Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, the new CG anime series in the franchise. The trailer reveals the main cast and staff working on this new series that continues to follow Major Kusanagi and the Section team as they battle cyberterrorism in the mid 21st Century.
Cast members from past Ghost in the Shell anime series and movies will reprise their respective roles. They include Atsuko Tanaka as Motoko Kusanagi, Akio Ohtsuka as Batou, Kōichi Yamadera as Togusa, Yutaka Nakano as Ishikawa, Toru Ohkawa as Saito, Takashi Onozuka as Paz, Tarô Yamaguchi as Borma, and Sakiko Tamagawa as the Tachikoma. Osama Saka also returns as Daisuke Aramaki.
The series is being produced by Production I.G., who proposes that it will have two seasons. The first season will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama and season two will be directed by Shinji Aramaki. The characters designs will be handle by Russian illustrator IIya Kushinov. Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is scheduled to premiere April 2020 on Netflix.
