God of War’s Mimir is brought to life as animatronic head!

How many of us have enjoyed Mimir’s tales during the last legs of 2018’s God of War? Wouldn’t it be cool if we can have a Mimir of our own? Of course, beheading a god and have said head reanimated could prove to be a tad difficult. Luckily, special effects studio Bar-El Studios has solved that issue and created a realistic animatronic of Mimir. The fully realized head has glowing golden eyes, horns, beard and moves his mouth as if he is talking to you.

This caught the attention of Santa Monica Studios, developer of God of War, who said “one of the greatest single tribute creations for God of War we have ever seen.” Santa Monica posted the revealed on their Twitter account.

God of War is the eighth entry on Santa Monica Studios long running God of War series. It was released for PlayStation 4 in April 2018. Set years after the events of God of War III, Kratos has traveled north to the Norse lands where began a new family. Following the death of his wife, Kratos and his son Atreus embark on an adventure to return his wife ashes to her home all the while being assaulted by every creature of myth and legend as well as the Gods of Asgard. The game went on to win several awards for direction and storytelling and won Game of the Year at the Video Game Awards 2018.
