22nd “Detective Conan” movie is top grossing film in the franchise!!

After beating out “Avengers: Infinity War” in its opening weekend, there was no surprise that the 22nd film in the “Detective Conan” movie franchise would eventually top the list. “Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer” topped Japan’s box office for the sixth week in a row, beating out strong newcomers, the CG family film “Peter Rabbit” and the Dwayne Johnson powered “Rampage” films. The movie has grossed 7.2 billion yen, overtaking its predecessor, the 21st film “Crimson Love Letter” that grossed 6.87 billion yen from its domestic run in 2017. This is the sixth consecutive year that the Detective Conan film franchise has broken Japanese box office records since the release of “Private Eye in the Distant Sea” in 2013.
